NO REST FOR THE WICKED [May. 10th, 2005|11:26 am]

I have completely blown this page off for oh about 4-5 months. Well in short it has been a quite a year already. At the first of the year I started a really good job. So far it is going very well. The pay is excellent and has given me the funds to get ahead a little. I have since purchased all of the musical gear I have always wanted and am on my way to getting fully sleeved with tattoo's. Boy do I have my priorities straight. In January I got into a drunken scuffle with my best friend. We both fell and I hit face first into the asphalt and broke my nose. I spent the next week pulling small splinters of bone out of the one inch lesion that should have been stitched up on the bridge of my nose. Ouch! It is healing quite nicely now. In February a very dear friend of mine Kurt Carter took his own life and sent a shock wave throughout the entire community. I stopped feeling sorry for myself and focused on all of the positive things I could do to make a difference. Still hurts! Staying on track my band TORSO has come a long way. We have recently booked three really cool shows in a row and am very excited to play the clubs again. As far as my love life is concerned...well...I had started getting some attention from a few girls who showed an interest and tried dating again. UGH! My last "girlfriend" and I were still seeing each other as friends w/benefits but found out the hard way that we can not get along. For the last 6 months I have had the freedom to date casually, some good / some bad but found out that its harder than it looks. I still think that Denver has the most beautiful women here. I have come to terms with the fact that I am ready for a committed relationship. Dating sucks sometimes but want to keep trying. My job, my band, my friends and family, my hobbies and women are keeping me pretty busy but you wont hear me complaining much. I have a very fulfilling life and am generally happy. I am going to make an effort to update this Journal more often so I don't have to paraphrase everything. So until next time...

AMEN to Denver [Nov. 4th, 2004|11:30 am]

I think I have finally found my niche. Not to say that I will be complete till I fill in a few missing pieces but I have focused on being happy. I have had an incredible four months.

July started with my new band Torso playing its first show @ The Bluebird Theater for The Industrial Revolution. It was a great debut show and was overwhelmed from the support of my family and friends. The rest of July was spent working mostly with Rhino staging and was fortunate enough to work with touring acts like: Kenny Rogers, Van Halen, Tim Macgraw, Vans Warped Tour, Jessica Simpson and finishing the month with Whip It 9 on 07-23 to hanging out backstage all day @ Ozzfest the very next day. I hooked up with a friend of mine from Phoenix, AZ and after picking up our passes we started partying with the guys from Hatebreed. As the day progressed we found ourselves doing Jaeger shots with Dez from Coal Chamber, Corey from Slipnot, Carey King from Slayer and many others. The highlight of my day was getting to meet with Rob Halford from Judas Priest for a half an hour in his dressing room. After the meeting we watched the band play and went backstage again to stand about 10 feet from Ozzy as he performed yet another incredible show with Black Sabbath. What a hangover!

August 1st was my birthday and I was on a roll. I had just started dating again after a year of being single and found myself getting plenty of attention. But most of my month was spent on writing new material for my band and doing our second show @ Hog Butler Institute for Industrial Butler.I finished off August working with Prince. Hehe. I love Purple Rain.

September came around too fast and I was still celebrating my birthday a month later. It started with another live show @ The Bluebird Theater that turned out really well. We had a great crowd and our sound was coming around nicely. The rest of the month was spent clubbing, a couple of other peoples birthday's and working. Oggity Oggity Ugh!

October was here and we rented an new rehearsal space in the basement of The Cherry Pit to prepare for a couple of new shows booked. On the 12th we played with one of my favorite local acts Akivate Sin @ The Cherry Pit. It turned out ok but our sound was hosed up which created allot of unnecassary tension after the show. Oh well thats Rock and Roll! The rest of the month was spent preparing/rehearsing for the biggest night of the year. Halloween. We managed to book the biggest Halloween party of the year @ The Church with Aktivate Sin and my band Torso. Hosted by Maris The Great "Time To Prey" was well received and I felt a feeling of accomplishment getting to perform in front of all of the people that I had been hanging out with over the last year. What a rush! I think I still have a smile on my face.

November is here now and I had just woke up from a Marylin Manson show last night and was feeling a little reflective. I had seen him last year at this time and really enjoyed myself. I think Denver is the right place for me at this time of my life and in general I am pretty happy with the way things are turning out. I have many great things to look forward to.
